Raising the curtain on the Aurora Borealis

The Northern lights provide one of the most spectacular natural phenomena on Earth. This talk will include many images of this amazing sight and will explain how the borealis are formed and what the different colours and shapes mean. The Northern lights have been visible throughout the evolution of man, so I’ll also talk a little about some of the ancient legends and folklore associated with the Aurora. As many people like to take photographs of the night sky, I will also provide some tips about astrophotography in general and about photographing the Northern Lights in particular.
